Friends are certainly a precious gift from God! Katie and I have been friends for over twenty years now.
We met in middle school and hit it off right away.
She’s been there through the thick and thin, and I don’t know what I would do without her. Since we both have toddlers, we like to spend our days together and let the kids play. Usually I go over to her house because my schedule is a little more flexible than hers. We really enjoy our time together and so do the kids. A couple weeks ago, something unusual happened. The air conditioner in her house suddenly stopped running even though the thermostat read seventy-five degrees. We called her husband, but he wasn’t able to leave work at the time to come check it out, so he told us to call and HVAC technician. It was hours before the technician was able to come, and the house got uncomfortably warm. When he finally arrived, he checked out the unit and said that it was simply low on coolant. After filling it up, he realized that actually wasn’t the problem. He called a coworker to come help him, and they were eventually able to figure out the issue. It ended up costing over a thousand dollars to fix their air conditioner, but I guess, it was worth it in the end. She hasn’t had any issues with it since, and I’m only praying nothing goes wrong with ours because we don’t have that kind of money to blow on our central air system!
