We were recently waiting for a flight at the local international airport. It was going to be a short one: just a one-hour flight to hop a few states over. We were going to a large conference for our corporation. It’s an annual conference that we’ve come to enjoy, simply because it means about 4 days of traveling and generally relaxing at a hotel. Sure, there are meetings and seminars to go to, but it breaks up the workflow, and is truthfully quite a stressless time for us. We care far more about the local attractions and restaurants, which we often find time for despite the meeting schedules that we have to adhere to. There was another reason why we were cheerful that the conference finally came this year. Our home recently lost use of its Heating & A/C system. We do not have the money to repair it right now, so we spent the last few days dripping with sweat in bed trying to sleep as best as we could. Of course, we used two fans that we could fit around our bed, but it’s not quite the same as having an A/C. Anyway, at the airport terminal, it felt so breezy and cool. It was making us relaxed as we were waiting for our flight. We had to fight to keep our eyes open. When we eventually boarded our flight, it was quite cool and comfortable in the jetliner as well. Maybe the terminal and the plane just felt like being spoiled after spending the past few days at our sizzling house.
