Yesterday was a bit of a scary day for me.
I really got injured on the job.
I don’t have any fear when it comes to performing heat and ac repair. It’s something I’ve been doing for forever now. So when I was told that I would have to perform and repair an air conditioning system that was on a roof I didn’t think anything of it. I’ve done something like that hundreds of times and so I was more than used to going up to high three sister changing air conditioning systems. Of course not all HVAC systems are up high, but when you’ve been in the Heating and cooling industry as long as I’ve had then you’ve done this multiple times. As far as I was concerned it was just another day. I climbed up on top of the roof and everything was fine and I had successfully brought up my toolbox and a pair of the air conditioning system. If she started when I was making my way back down the ladder to the ground. My foot slipped and I nearly fell off the ladder. I just slept a little bit too. I completely veered to the side and nearly fell off. Everything was slippery because it had been raining recently and I’m lucky that I didn’t fall off the roof. Even when I was walking around up they’re my shoes kept slipping and so I had to be extra careful. Luckily when I almost slipped going down the ladder I was able to grab myself and stop myself from falling. On the rest of the way down, I kept a firm grip on the ladder and was extra careful when carrying my tool bag. I made it down just fine and the customer got a repaired HVAC system.
