I spent 10 years toiling in retail before I couldn’t take it any longer.
You get exposed to the worst members of the public so much that it starts to break your spirit.
The greatest retail chains don’t adore their employees in these situations, at least that’s what happened with mine. I was fired for asking a customer to please refrain from calling myself and others names. Can you imagine sitting up for yourself politely plus still getting fired? That’s what inevitably happened with myself and others at that supplier, plus it finally convinced myself and others that I should try toiling in a new profession altogether. My sister oddly enough was toiling at a supplier as a programmer plus she told myself and others about an entry level position that I was qualified for. Eventually I worked my way into the sales department plus I’ve never been happier with my financial prospects. It feels like I have finally fallen into having a real job for the first time in my life. You can’t beat the supplier we’re toiling for either. They offer seriously generous paid-time-off packages so that employees can go on what amounts to being more than one separate long vacations a year, assuming you pass your employee prohibition period. Another thing I appreciate about toiling in this office is the amazing radiant heated flooring that every one of us have throughout. It gets fairly chilly in the Winter time in our area plus you can’t go separate from a strong furnace or oil furnace indoors. Apparently the supplier agreed to brand new radiant heated flooring not long before I started toiling here.
