If you have ever lived in an old house, you might be able to relate with the story I am going to tell! The apartment I grew up in was built in 1934.
- The apartment is nearly 100 years old at this point.
As a child, I remember rattling air vents plus aromay air coming from the vents once the heat was turned on, then no matter the season, is seemed as there was always something wrong with the HVAC system, but in a perfect world, my parents would have had the entire component replaced years ago, then however, this apartment was passed down from a late aunt who passed away unexpectedly. The apartment held multiple memories plus some even said that it was haunted. I only ever heard weird noises coming from the air vents, plus the occasional screeching when the filters need to be cleaned… My parents wanted to replace the entire heating plus cooling system one year, however were unable to afford the repairs. In order to keep the value of the apartment if my good friend and I wanted to sell, my good friend and I would need to have the HVAC component replaced. There is no way the apartment would sell with all the weird sounds plus aromas that came from the air vents, however once I went away for college, my parents decided to replace the heating plus cooling system in the old 1930’s home. After multiple inspections from an HVAC business, they were informed that this project would require much more than they originally bargained for. They would have to replace the roof along with the HVAC unit! They went ahead with the project plus sold the apartment shortly after.
